Takes awhile for the story elements to fall in to place and some of them get lost along the way. All of Chang Cheh's hallmarks are here, including: bloody swordfighting, decapitations and brotherhood -- there's also a tacked on romantic subplot that goes nowhere (usually the case in Cheh films) and a special sword that doesn't seem too special. The last 20 minutes or so is pretty wild with a huge body count.
