Mst3k: 8/10

A serviceable script that's ill served by its Soap Opera actors and dopey monster. What The Thing could have become if placed in lesser hands. [MST3k was an especially cruel round of Riffing, making a real turkey with all the trimmings. The Thanksgiving version has the better skits and makes for the gravy on top.]

Years before _Junior_, Emmet played the world's *real* first pregnant man. Everybody in this movie looks very dour and serious but this is still a howl, with (an often shirtless) Emmet going way over the top as the defiled hero whose obsessive relationship with the monster makes this look like the first Hollywood movie about a gay couple.

Mostly boring. And just what the hell exactly is a Blood Beast, anyway? The thing on the screen just looked like some bottom feeder from the Black Lagoon.
