I'd say aside from the Big Lebowski, which is a completely different kind of movie, this is the Coen's best. One of the most suspenseful movies I've ever seen, and the entire thing is permeated by a kind of uneasy feeling (the complete lack of any musical score probably adds to this). Javier Bardem's character is absolutely terrifying. By the time this was over, I was exhausted. I know that sounds like a bad thing, but it's really not.

Highly entertaining movie with themes to think of, but I still think it's way too overrated. Directors and cast do great job though.

We've seen betters from Coens. It's a good movie, but still overrated; and definitely not the best movie of '08..

A mixture between a western and crime epic, this film is a macabre work of art by the Coens. All individuals involved take it up a notch, but Bardem truly steals the film as an insane assassin with 'principles'. Bringing to mind echoes of Fargo and Blood Simple, this is one of the greatest films the Coens have done and one of the greatest films of the year.

Hated it. I'm told the painfully slow plot and character development are what makes the Coen Brothers' movies... I don't buy it. Still, I'm sure that this will garner Oscar nods and glory, deserved or not. Javier Bardem did an amazing job as an easy-to-hate villian, I will say, and Tommy Lee Jones can always be counted on to provide dry humour with a dialogue that is devoid of feeling.

Direction, actors, production... Almost everything excellent. Almost, because trying to ensure a maginificient end, brothers Cohen gave us a dissapointing finish...

Pretty much on par with Fargo as the Coen Brothers' greatest work. It's an absolute marvel to watch this twisted tale unfold.

Good movie, but I didn't think it was great. I thought Bardem was crazy, especially in the scenes with Harrelson and Macdonald. Its worth seeing but I am not running out to see it again either.

Now I wanna grow a moustache and buy myself some shotguns, or even better; a high pressure airgun-thingy. This movie is so cool! I'll have to rewatch it because I couldn't really relate the final scene to the rest of the movie and it's supposed to be very important, so...

Perhaps upon a second viewing of this film I might come to appreciate its supposed brilliance, but I don't know that I can really subject myself to another 122 minutes of such pretention. I know I'll probably get torn to pieces for writing such heresy, but this film just didn't do that much for me. SORRY! It really was beautifully filmed though, and I felt Brolin and Macdonald really stole the show. As for Bardem, I really feel there's a difference between understatement and doing nothing...

Best film I've seen in a long time, and I usually hate the Coens. But this had real humanity, and very real inhumanity. Extremely suspenseful and intelligently told, this film deserves all the plaudits it's accumulated.

The ending has got to the best I've seen in a long while. It resonates so clearly and it is so simple. I wasn't paying attention to it and missed it because I didn't think it was the end. It's so subtle.
