Summary: What do you do when you're a red-haired teenage loser with no friends except for an older guy, your shrink? When everyone hates you, especially your family? When all your peers make fun of you and kick you around? The answer: you and your loser buddy blow all the cash you can get your hands on to buy a sportscar, you dress smart and you head for the land of redheads, Ireland. But what starts off as a search for an ideal, gradually escalates into a rampage of hate, violence and self-destruction.
I always thought Romain Gavras should make a movie, because his music videos has style and something personal about them. When I heard that he make a road movie starring Cassel my expectation have risen even higher. Finally, I saw it, and it's cynical, nihilistic, pretentious nonsense. Thanks, Romain, now go back to make videos with exploding gingers.
subat 2011, ifistanbul 2011 & ergen bunalimi ofkesiyle dolu bir yonetmenin filmi. fazla ofkeli bu nedenle fazla dengesiz bir film. eklektik yapisi bir kere seyirciyi filmden uzaklastiriyor. karakterler cok ayriksi ve hic derinine inilmemis. cok havada kalmis bir film. zaman kaybi.
An hour and a half passes by and nothing has changed... It could have been a lot but isn't very much. Sad but true, cause I expected more. Cassel is solid as always, but the boy, who by the way isn't very redheadish, (and why wouldn't they choose a proper redhead when that is the catalyst of the film?) is just annoying! Still, it touches upon other themes which are interesting and it is what lies beneath that saves it from complete failure.
