Summary: In this very abstract cartoon, a hard-of-hearing old Britisher finds a red horn and uses it as a megaphone, unaware that it is really a lost horn from the Devil's forehead. The Britisher finds that the horn has the effect of amplifying every sound psychedelically and causing him serious bodily harm. (imdb)
I like surrealism as much as anyone, but this relies too much on loud, annoying, random sounds, which are neither pleasant to listen to nor interesting. I didn't like hearing them as a kid, and I don't like it now. Furthermore, there isn't a shred of actual humor here; instead, it's a mishmash of random images, which are presented well, but without laughter, story, characters, quality music, or amazing visuals, they can only go so far. Not bad, but I wouldn't call it more than watchable.
Boy, this is weird. It's more of an exploration on the marriage of animation and sound than any sort of traditional narrative, and in that respect, it's quite interesting. I can't see anyone other than an animation buff or film student being interested in this short though, it's a little too abstract for the masses. Maybe that's why it's never televised.
