While it starts as what could be interpreted as a cheap soviet propoganda film...it slowly shifts gears into an incredibly unique and objective commentary of east versus west. Extremely funny. Being Russian, I thought that a lot of the humor would be lost on a foreign audience but actually much to my pleasant surprise it transcended the humor barrier. Maybe because i watched it with another Russian person and two French people (it was a joint French/Russian production)

A funny scifi comedy about Russian mentality. A physical gateway gave for film maker a possibility to compare the Russian and Western lifestyles side by side. It also showed what (simple) Russians would do with gateway if they've got it without control. The pacing was pretty loose and the story did not achieve totally it's possibilities. The humour was mostly well done.
