While I admit that it does try some things new with the "environmentalist" kid movies, none of it is at all remarkable, and it's rather cliched all around. Even the "unique" aspects of the film aren't even interesting and end up being forgettable in the end. Michael Crawford as that old badger is quite amusing to be sure, though.

I loved this as a kid, but it hasn't held up well. At all.

Like everyone else, I loved this as a kid but, as an adult, I know it sucks but the nostalgia is so great for me that I still enjoy watching it. The songs "Please Wake-Up" and "Once Upon a Time With Me" are beautiful.

This was my favorite movie when I was a tiny child but on watching it as an adult, I find this movie is just mediocrity upon mediocrity. The vast majority of the character designs are bland in bland ways. The plot is unremarkable and padded for length and none of the animation really shines. At best, the visuals are made from bizarre design choices that are, if unfitting, interesting. Despite poor context, this movie does contain one scene that is legitimately quite good so that's something.

So, I saw this again after god knows how many years. It was one of my very favorites as a kid along with The Great Mouse Detective and The Brave Little Toaster. I gotta say, though, those two held up a lot better than this. It's really unremarkable and cliche, and very bland to boot. Even then, I don't regret watching it - nostalgia is powerful stuff, so I still enjoyed it. But I recognize that if I had seen it any other time in my life, I would have been incredibly bored.
