Mix of urban grittiness and heart-tugging sentiment doesn't work, especially with its many convenient dramatic turns and shortcuts. Those three little girls *are* adorable, though.

A damn solid cop film with a terrific performance by Keaton about the repercussions of one's decisions, and how they end up affecting the ones we love as much as ourselves. However, the realism is supplanted by too much Hollywood fantasy in parts, especially in the ending. Had it chosen to be as uncompromising as the plot deserved, this film could have been great.

The only cool thing about this movie is that it uses the song "In The Neck" by Revolting Cocks
