Not a bad movie, but Ralf Fiennes does not fit into this role for me. Plus I have to admit I have problem remembering scenes from movies unless they are really memorable and this movie has no such scene..

Genuine Russian spirit on the screen

This is a beautiful film. I daren't imagine Christmas dinner at the Fiennes abode. Exceptional cinematography; attention to detail; direction and camera work of artistic merit; and gorgeous accompanying soundtrack make for a sensual masterpiece. The characterisation of Onegin and Tatyana is exemplary, however, I never truly believed the interactions or felt it flowed quite right. Likewise, Liv Tyler and Toby Stephens were poorly cast. Ralph Fiennes was, however, superb as expected.

Such a detailed film. The blowing and hypnotic feel grows with each and every viewing. That being said though, it's not without its flaws. It's poorly casted, and Liv Tyler is atrocious. Still, a very solid effort from Mr. Fiennes.
