Buster Keaton light. He's been funnier and the stunts have been more impressing in other films. The water fall stunts at the end are pretty awesome, though.

Funny stuff and the film has so much charm it's almost infectious. As usual with Keaton I love the stunt work (how the hell did Keaton live until he was 70?!) and the sense of daring the film has. The 75 minutes truly rushes past.

a fantastic film that goes just like a steam engine, begins slow and over time increases it's pace. in this case it works perfectly, it's got some amazing stunts and wonderful gags that are sure to entertain and amaze. i've always loved keaton, and i'm pretty sure that when i have children and grandchildren i'll make every one of his films a must watch.

Dangerous stunts galore, and quite simply a great premise. I actually expected it to play with the idea of Buster not cottoning on, but it took a funnier, more interesting path. The only thing I didn't like were the train scenes, which were okay but went on for far too long. Was he testing the waters for The General or something?

Lacks the energy, momentum and perfect comic timing of Keaton's masterpieces such as The General and Sherlock Jr. It does, however, have a charm about it that keeps it interesting even when things are moving a little bit slowly.

This is why slapstick comedies (silent ones, at that) should not be much longer than 45 minutes...A paper-thin narrative cannot sustain this film 75 minutes in length, especially problematic when slapstick is oriented on the body and the spectacle, and because of poor pacing, the body and the spectacle is spread out far too thin. Some fantastic stunts--the waterfall finale in particular--save it from being too awful.

Keaton substitutes his usually brilliant physical comedy for a comedy of manners, as the driving force of the film is the tension between Southern decorum and an old blood feud that demands Keaton get wasted. It's not among his funniest work, but it is entertaining and as expertly made as you'd expect.

The first half of Our Hospitality a little plodding (the train sequence, while charming in its own right, goes on forever), but the finale, starting with the cliff-face chase, is so packed with amazing stunts and gags that it makes up for any earlier boredom. Also, Keaton in drag. Huzzah!

There are some great moments, but a lot of it falls flat. Even some gags that should have had me laughing didn't get a reaction because of the awkward pacing. Enjoyable, but doesn't compare with Keaton's greats.

Fabulous comedy, one of Keaton's best films. Richly packed with humor, not just gags, but real human observation; beautifully conceived, beautifully performed, and beautifully photographed. The acrobatic climax still elicits gasps from any audience. It is generally conceded that although he eschewed screen credit, Keaton actually directed most of his films.
