I wouldn't say that I'm a college comedy afficionado (I've never seen "Animal House"), but I thought this blew away "Old School". Piven, Favreau (gotta love the scene where he wears the shirt of the band he's going to see that night..."Don't be that guy"), and the guy from Hepcat? That's a recipe for success!

Hey, let's throw put together every college stereotype plus a formulaic script, and call it a movie! It was amusing to some extent.

Not so great ode to Animal House. Piven is entertaining though.

I mostly try to stay politically correct in my reviews, but PCU was bad ass. Well, okay, I might be overstating it, but I did like this movie. The scene with them throwing meat at the protesters for veganism really cracked me up. I think it did a good job showing how crazy all the campus groups can be, whether you are part of the stoner crowd or part of the stuffy Republican group. Each group has its leaders and weak links to society...

Agreeable college comedy came out at the wrong time when youth comedies were out of fashion. It didn't help that it was marketed as a 90's Animal House despite lacking the freshness and energy of that seminal film. It never becomes the wild rowdy romp that it threatens to be, nor is it really the sharp satire of contemporary campus life overtaken by identity politics that it hints at in its early scenes. Nonetheless, Piven is engaging as a slacker frat leader, and there are some funny moments.

Animal House's awkward younger brother has enough unique laughs to make it worth watching, but it is all highly derivative. It's good to see Jeremy Piven as the good guy and not the offensive douche, by the way.

Cinematic masterpiece? Hardly. Funny and entertaining? Absolutely!

Pretty funny. The acting is largely too on-the-nose for it to be as good as it might have been, but it's still fun.

Solid college comedy. Owes a lot to Animal House, obviously, but also has a lot of original laughs thrown into the mix. Worth a watch.

Let's be honest, this is a poor man's Animal House, BUT it's still a pretty funny take on the whole underdog's vs. Dean/Snobs scenario. There are some classic lines and Parliament's inclusion was great. It's predictable as hell, but who cares? It's just an 80 minute long goofy comedy. Worth a watch if you like Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds or Old School.

Animal House for Gen X, PCU delivers a series of non-stop laughs primarily at the hands of a brilliant Jeremy Piven and his oddball fratmates as they introduce a young prospective student to the glamour of college in the era of political correctness. Could've been better in places, but for the most part it works well and packs heaps of laughs that stands up with the best comedies of any generation.

Fun buy unremarkable, I only watched it because it had an ultimate scene and Jeremy Piven. Easily forgettable.

Piven's flashback of living with David Spade is worth the price of admission. You know, or youtube it.

Typical underdogs win scenario that was done far better by Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds.

Not all that great or remarkable, but it works as a slob comedy, primarily because Piven manages the aging, balding, cool college role surprisingly well.
