Summary: Recently divorced Meg Altman (Foster) and her daughter Sarah (Stewart) have bought a new home in New York. On their tour around the mansion, they come across the panic room. A room so secure, that no one can get in. When three burglars break in, Meg makes a move to the panic room. But all her troubles don't stop there. The criminals know where she is, and what they require the most in the house is in that very room. (imdb)

An exercise in the craft that includes a bit too many 'look at me' camera movements (why exactly am I supposed to care that the camera just went through a keyhole?), but is ultimately redeemed by Jodie Foster's cleavage.

As someone who is not a Fincher fan, except for Se7en (1995), this is actually a much better film than some of his newer works. It suffers the same problems as most of his films - that for his technical gift as a director his films feel cold and empty - but as a genre story this is less of a problem here than with a more serious work, allowing him to use his camera tricks and ideas to create something that is successfully tense and engaging, rather than attempt something profound poorly.

This movie demanded just too many extensions of disbelief of me. Nor the characters nor the plot were strong enough for me to grant it... Therefore my low score. This movie got hyped up quite a lot I remember when it came out but I'm not a fan.
