Didn't have any expectations at all for this movie but I was pleasantly surprised! It was a bit dramatic but mostly very funny.

I went to see this movie, I dont know why, but think it would be awful. It was a pleasant surprise. I like movies of this type, a good mix of drama and comedy, without great pretensions. Good movie.

A relatively strong cast desperately tries to overcome relatively weak writing and direction. The result is just ok.

About 30 minutes into 'Paper Man', I found myself yelling "Get to the point!" Everyone but Abby is extremely unlikeable until the 3rd act, when a lot of characters turn around. When you're writing a movie about a washed-up writer, it shouldn't feel like the film itself is made by a washed-up writer. You know the "twist" before it's ever revealed based on how low-key this film thinks it is. Emma Stone's Abby saves this by being so damn endearing, even though her melodramatic backstory is awful.

Pretty likeable indie with a good cast. Stone and Daniels actually pull off their unlikely friendship. In fact, Daniels is great in this, and Reynolds is a hoot doing his arch camp thing. But what is it about Montauk and relationships on the rocks?

"A cross between Greenberg and The Answer Man with a few extra helpings of quirk, Paper Man dully reconfirms that the new millennium's favorite indie-film cliché is the man-child struggling to grow up." - Nick Schager

Good cast that carries what you have definitely seen before. Not the best tale of two lonely people, far from the worst however. Ryan Reynolds as Captain Excellent was awesome and is the best reason to seek this out.

This is an ambitious movie in some ways, and not at all in others. I feel it swings and misses more than it hits, but none of it's misses detract. They just come off as missed opportunities. It still made me think and feel something so that in itself, is a victory.

Not an amazing movie, kind of predictable and not well written...but a good story about a non-sexual, yet loving relationship made between two damaged and lonely people.

This film. Although it's one of the most 'read between the lines' films I've seen for a while, once you've crossed that boundary, it's just truly sublime. The story is just so full to the brim with themes, it's just indescribable. I'm speechless at how low-key this film is. It's just...wow.

Heart-shattering at times. Starts off great, ends even better. Absolutely superb acting and ridiculously good writing makes this a tangibly genuine film; while Stone is painfully great and Daniels is depressingly so, together they're magically uplifting. Their characterizations are truly deep, and amazingly heartfelt. The best on-screen relationship in years, maybe ever.

Shares a lot similarities with Greenberg, but it is not that well written. What got to me in this film is how well I could relate to it. Little coincidences like names didn't help either, and that last letter totally killed me. Too bad there is no good endings in real life.

I like Jeff Daniels, I really do. Emma Stone, though, is not my cup of tea. The movie explores their relationship without much nuance. The invisible friends gag could've had potential but, unlike Ryan Reanolds' Captain, the material is very short of Excellent.
