Very funny at parts, but not very consistent throughout, still not a bad movie.

The cast is top notch and the jokes are just plain funny. Its not as charming as Pegg and Frost's earlier works, but I enjoy the added crude humor.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were pretty good and the movie was funny here and there, but I don't think the world needs any any more CGI characters, especially ones voiced by Seth Rogan that make fart jokes.

Pros: The titular character was great and felt real; hilarious comedy and exciting action in one sweet bundle (much like Shaun and Hot Fuzz); peppered with funny s/f geek culture references ("boring conversation anyway" was my favorite). Cons: Something about Paul the alien irked me; the Brit stars didn't quite fit in the American setting; the cursing joke got old really fast, but they kept milking and milking it.

Very smart humor. Lots of great sci-fi movie references many subtle so watch closely! A little vulgar but overall a very enjoyable movie.

Not as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, but still enjoyable.

Expected better from Simon Pegg & Nick Frost. Pretty Ok though.

Good but it could have been so much better.

The characters are stereotypes to the point of not being realistic. The CGI alien is most human and believable character in this movie.

This movie was quirky. Good quirky. A great way to unwind on a Friday night when life has been taking itself all too seriously.

I really, really want to hate this film. I really, really do. I hate stupid comedies, and I hate buddy comedies even more. I hate dumb jokes about sex and science fiction. But... for some reason, I didn't hate this. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it, either.

If you like Nick Frost and Simon Pegg then you will enjoy this movie. If you're looking for something special you will be disappointed. However if you catch a buzz before viewing, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Well done computer effects, a nice alien acting like a too chilled out human, a zealous girl changing into a pervy simpleton, a looser and a serious guy - this movie has to each his own. In general it's rather enjoyable, especially for paranormal phenomena fans (we get to see the ComicCon and there are some nerdy s-f references). Some themes are shown as a canon though, which makes it less special. At the end, a viewer has a feeling one was watching a comic writer's fantasy or a dream.

The film is decent enough to watch, but when compared to Pegg & Frost's other work, there's just something horrifically lacking in humour. None of it is particularly clever. It's not even particularly strong in brash humour (though present). A let down in my eyes.

I loved this film as a kid and although the cinematography was fairly bland it's still one of Pegg and Frost's best work. The writing was brilliant and the acting was on point. I loved everyone's performance but Seth Rogen did a great job bringing Paul to life.

I went into this expecting very little, and came out with some good laughs. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg rushing around gives me major Hot Fuzz vibes, and that's always a good thing.

Wasn't expecting much from this and after a slow start I feared the worst, but I ended up really enjoying it. The Frost and Pegg partnership works well again, they carry the movie and make it entertaining enough throughout. Funny cameo by Jeffrey Tambor too. Full of movie references, so many jokes may pass people by
