Summary: Val Resnick and Porter, two small time bandits, hit a Chinese gang together and manage to get $140,000. But Val Resnick needs 130 grand alone to buy himself back into his syndication. So, Val turns on Porter together with Porter's wife Lynn, who shoots him twice in the back. But Porter survives and half a year later, he is back, seeking his share of $70,000... (imdb)

The at-times jazzy feel of this remake is at odds with the overwhelming (and depressing) greyness of the cinematography, creating an oddly contrasting tone that is probably the result of production problems.

Weak remake of Point Blank (itself overrated). Gibson is at his best when allowed to be playful (see Lethal Weapon), but he just doesn't work in dour stuff like this.

While slow for an action picture, the violence is frequently wincingly painful, which helps to make for excitement. The plot is pure fantasy, & the mobsters a bit too dumb, but its pretty easy to get caught up anyway.

The DC is a huge improvement over the theatrical. The characters feel far more real, the violence has more of an impact and the new ending is superb.
