I love Sarah Silverman and she's great in it but it's otherwise horrible.

This felt like a really dark, charmless take on The Royal Tenenbaums. The characters are all struggling siblings suffering from arrested development, daddy issues, & career disappointments. The similarities end there.

Peep World is an enjoyable film but also an empty one. By the end, you have a feeling that you sat through an incredibly pointless movie, even if you did have some fun along the way. Is it necessarily worth a watch? Probably not, but I can't say that I regret sitting through it, especially since it only runs for approximately 80 minutes. It doesn't really satisfy though, and left me feeling as if a big finale was planned, but the filmmakers ran out of money and couldn't deliver.

Strong individual performances elevate this by the numbers film. It could have been a little deeper as it claims that the characters have incredibly interesting flaws that one of them put in a best selling book, but we don't really see anything too crazy. The ending was also a little to easily wrapped up and didn't feel true to the rest of the story. Certainly watchable, but nothing great.

This was very by the books, but not a bad movie. It felt like a typical indie dramedy, where a family is fucked up, some 'quirky' things happen (in this case, porn shops and RAGING BONERS), and everyone eventually lets out how they feel at the end. It's depressing that it's so impressively average though, considering C. Hall is always a pleasure, Silverman is funny, Mara is gorgeous, and Greer has a charm about her. Talent doesn't lead to much here though. Again, not awful, just 'normal.'

"The film draws its laughs from the suffering of its characters, knocking them against each other while jury-rigging a spindly plot from their in-fighting." - Jesse Cataldo
