this is in every way superior to the 30's version of the movie, but still nowhere near the classic wodehouse book. that is to be expected because the idiosyncratic narration of wodehouse could never be portrayed correctly on film unless the movie was constantly voiceover-ed and that would just make a bad movie.

Actually it was not bad as a story; there was some highlights of it. I liked a scifi kind of combination of 30's and 21st century, songs were okay (both ballroom singers were stunning) and sets and hair dones marv. But the director was totally out of the set. He did not have a faintest idea of the story. Brenda Blethyn is a charming lady and an actress, but here her talent was completely wasted.
