Another Ray short. This is a fictional one, about an upper-middle class woman (the magnificent Aparna Sen) whose love affair is sending ripples through the household. We mostly see things from the perspective of the young boy, Pikoo. The film is painted in slightly impressionistic bits, and manages to convey a lot with very little. Ray usually handles melodrama exceptionally well, so I found one particular moment oddly heavy-handed. Otherwise, a lovely and thoughtful piece.
