A lot of Wright-centered footage and awful CGI (in the directors cut at least) detract slightly from the excellent early Floyd prog-rock epics. This is mostly made up for by the fact that there's a dog-fronted song.

Most of the music is great, and the setting is fantastic. Minus points only for the CSO, and some of the cheesier editing effects (the endless boxes!). You've got a beautiful and haunting setting - use it. Pink Floyd is so much more than just Dark Side or The Wall... Echoes alone makes this worth the watch.

floyd in their psychedelic prime. before they turned into a huge stageshow and hired back up musicians. an epic must see for any floyd fan! the whole pompeii idea is pretty cool, too. if you get the dvd, somewhere in the menus, you have the option to watch just the concert footage. like everyone has said, the director's cut cgi is pretty bad... haha. it's all about the show. some of the backstage antics are pretty awesome, too. darkside in the works, and mason disputing the shape of his pie.

Don't watch the director's cut. The CGI with 3D models of pompeii and spacy stuff are really annoying. The concert video is awesome though

Not a Pink Floyd fan, so the random musings weren't of much interest to me, but it's certainly well edited and the music and visuals create an interesting cohesive experience.

A great concert film. It's no "Stop Making Sense," though!

Even though some pretty terrible choices are made, this is one of the best concert films.

Excellent live performance filmed at a unique location: an ancient and empty amphitheater. Trippy goodness if you dig Floyd.

It's somehow ironic see them talking about how they solved their conflicts knowing what happened a decade later.

A great look at Pink Floyd's pre-Dark Side material including the immortal Echose (unfortunately split into 2 parts). The songs are shortened form their regular concert performance lengths, but it doesn't hurt the overall feel. Some interesting visuals, but a lot of mediocre material too (visually). The original film is preferred. The director's cut, while containing some interesting interviews and studio clips, is also bogged down in a lot of extra nonsense. A must-see movie if you're a Flo

Some of the effects are pretty cheesy (and I'm talking about the original version here, not the ridiculous director's cut). It could also be a little longer. It sure would be nice to have "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Astronomy Domine" on here, or one of the lighter songs like "A Pillow of Winds" or "Cymbaline". But the music we do get is phenomenal, some of my favorite Floyd songs, and the novelty of performing to the empty Pompeii stadium is interesting.

Awesome live Floyd. This was re-released a few years ago with some terrible computer animation, so it loses a bunch of points for that.

Bland, but the music is awesome.

The performances are incredible, and it was a really cool idea to film/record in the ancient ruins in Pompeii. The terrible CGI in the latest edition takes away a fair bit and they could have done alot more visually.
