A simple premises with much less slapping than usual. There's some scenes which at first look to play out like other restaurant routines the boys would later do but it's somewhat refreshing to see them going in another direction this early in their careers. Like much of their other 30's output there's a more down to earth tone to the routines and the film stock itself is grittier.
