The first half-hour or so is great, but then it gets bogged down somewhere around the croquet shtick. It also starts leaning too much on the title character's story/situation and W C gets shunted off to the side. The melody of that recurrent song more or less borrowed from "Moonlight Bay." Weird James Bondian moment: Fields referring to whatshername as the "Countess De Pussy."

"First you insult me, then you ask my advice concerning salesmanship... you sir are a dunce... D-U-N... how'd you spell it..." Unfairly forgotten, one of the more quotable Fields movies, and this one even has a story!
