In many ways it's the most ideal kind of cartoon cavalcade; the kind of thing we'd anticipate and enjoy in early Melodies and Tunes. All of which isn't to deny that Porky's Road Race is more about interest than belly laughs (or that it's partial to stereotyping), but is to praise a short that doesn't simply sacrifice spot-hitting comedy for monotony.

It's full of entertaining caricatures of 1930s film stars, so it's kind of a cartoon time capsule.
