Eventually when it has to answer the mystery, this film does not live up to the intrigue it produces, but it still nonetheless pulls you in.

I think I may have scored this film higher if I hadn't already seen Waking Life and The Man From Earth. The plot is flimsy and the acting is iffy but it's a Canadian production so I'll give it props for that.

This one of those science fiction films that has very little science involved and instead substitutes heaps of pseudo-intellectual philosophy. It wouldn't be so bad if the story didn't use the completely useless detective subplot as a means drive the plot forward. Tom McCamus is decent in the lead role, but Tilda Swinton acts as if she was told to show as little emotion as possible throughout the film.
