The longest of the series and surprisingly one of the most adventurous. Darkness is used just as dramatically as colour (but the two don't intertwine til later on in the series). Its length is both its strength and weakness: for all the creativity, it's still not enough for 4+ minutes, but it does enhance the exhaustion after viewing this spectacle.

At least these have a theme, they're all the hand-painted stuff. This is my favorite kind of Brakhage. I admit, though, that's it mainly because they're trippy and beautiful to look at. Brakhage's artistic rationales for these usually sound like hogwash to me, and they are somewhat interchangeable. Also hard to take in large doses.
