Everyone has remarked about how awful this movie is - they are right - but who the hell casted this movie? This is a movie about high school kids and they all look like they are in their 30's. Waste of film.
The remake does manage to include light bulbs in its budget. I'm actually impressed by the complete lack of originality that went into the this movie - it takes talent to make a movie this devoid of any ideas whatsoever. Most script writers and directors would try to put some tiny little individual spin on it, some little bit that says "Hey, look, this was my contribution"... but apparently all anyone asks of a horror movie these days is that it's well-lit.
Damn shit movie. Worse movie I think I've ever seen, and I've seen some terrible ones. The characters were both unbelievable and unlikable. The acting was horrid. The plot was unexplainable and horribly predictable. Even the terrible original was better than this hunk of shit.
this movie was not scary in any way, it didn't even have startling horror, much less actually making me afraid. this movie actually completely omitted one of the most important parts of horror movies for me, blood. not only were the death scenes lacking but when someone gets their throat slit, how can they not even bleed enough to stain the carpet? this is terrible, i need rivers flowing red with blood and sucking chest wounds and decapitations with spurting arteries.
One positive in this whole mess. The killer was at least different with his motivations on going after the lead. But this was otherwise a completely stupid movie, with horribly written characters.
I didn't hate this movie & I thaught I would 'cause I heard a lotta negative reviews...I just think the biggest mistake was calling it "Prom Night'....Or they coulda given it some sorta sub-title..."cause clearly anyone who'se seen the original can tell you it has little to do with the original....No mystery no suspence
Terrible remake of a not-so-great 80s horror movie. Very little blood makes this a useless horror movie. Horrible acting makes it not worth watching at all.
