A bizarre, semi-classic satire about a token black executive at a Madison Avenue ad agency who, when elected chairman of the board, fires all the white executives and renames the company "Truth & Soul Inc." Crude, but often quite funny; the fake commercials are the best, but there are delights to be found throughout. The acting is variable, and the script has a cobbled-together feel (it IS highly quotable), but there's an energy to the film that carries one over the rough spots. Fine music, too.

I love the energetic look and feel. Parts have dated poorly, but overall it's still pretty funny and it's a great historical document to get you in that revolutionary mood.

Very funny. The whole transformation of Putney into a Castro look-a-like with delusions of equality was hilarious. I love the style of the film.

The funniest thing in this movie is that Antonio Fargas is in it, and that he is billed as "Anthony" Fargas. It has a lot to say, but doesn't say it very well. Maybe you have to have lived through the '60s in order to get this one

Pretty solid satire. Reminded me a lot of the black student films coming out of UCLA around this time period, surprising that Robert Downey did this. The humor is occasionally forced and it drags sometimes but overall not bad.

These charicatures are not very hip or funny or confrontational in 2009. Has a few funny quotes and the commercials in color are mildly amusing.
