Summary: Wing-commander Tim Mason leads a squadron of Lancaster bombers on almost nightly raids from England. Having flown eighty-seven missions he will shortly be retiring from flying, but the strain is showing. He tries to make sure his men concentrate only on their job and so keeps women away from the base, but then he himself meets naval officer Eve Canyon. (imdb)

Slightly dull and dated stiff upper lip war time drama.

Awfully cut glass accents dominate this easily characatured insight into a squadron leaders view of loss within his command. Dirk Bogard is credible but a little caught in type. It does appear dated and doesn't have the drama of the Dambusters or the depth of some war-time films but is watchable. It focuses on the demands war and loss makes on the commander, but never quite gets fully under the skin of the character. Slightly disappointing film
