In the age when any formal experimentations were still new and fresh, Paul Leni presents a cinematic crossword. It is rich in different filming techniques - animation, multiple exposure and overlays. It seems German filmmakers were a leading force in cinema in the 20's.

A novel idea. A cinematic crossword puzzle to be solved by the audience. I'd love to see this kind of thing happen today, although jackasses would probably shout out the answers.
