Outrageous pre-production code performance by Harlow. Watch for Charles Boyer as the chauffeur!

Like Baby Face, this is another pre-Code movie about a woman using her feminine wiles to work her way up in the world. This is much more of a comedy, though, with Jean Harlow being rather inept (though not entirely unsuccessful) in her ambitions. It's kind of funny, but not really funny enough. And Harlow is more annoying than anything, and doesn't simmer with sexuality like, say, Barbara Stanwyck does (and she's not nearly as attractive). But there are some moments, and Una Merkel is fun.

Implausible and Jean Harlow is totally annoying.

A delightful film unlike most from its era, mainly due to its risque situations. Funny and highly entertaining.

It's fun because of Jean Harlow and the fact that it is obviously pushing boundaries and full of innuendo. That aside, it's a pretty average movie without a lot of spark.

The main issue is that Jean Harlow is really annoying. And we see her right breast! Scandal!
