Summary: Film follows the cool, emotionless Erica, who dives into bed with any man she meets. When she is offered a job in a DIY store in Austin, she discovers the kindness of strangers, but also the gruesome shadowy side of it.
An unconventional and a provocative piece of filmmaking, Red White & Blue quite effectively manages to get under your skin. The only thing that it demands in return is your patience and undivided attention. Despite the relentless onslaught of violence in the last act, it never slides down the trodden path of exploitation, which itself is quite an incredible thing to achieve.
It works as an indie drama following a few characters' lives, and, shockingly enough, it also works as a brutal slasher/revenge flick. No glam, no over-dramatic oversaturated Hollywood-influenced drama, just pure emotion and violence.
Great. What could be the difference between a trashy skank, 4 decent guys in a band and a colder than ice MOFO? One of them's revenge is righteous. This is a polished film, nicely shot, great performances and absolutely fantastic direction. Pair that with an impeccably paced fine plot full of twists you'll never see coming and you have here an instant classic. Do yourself a favor and watch this. Highly Recommended.
