Amusing exploitation film that does more to mark the drug culture's place in 1936 than it does make a decent film. Watch the Rifftrax version or else you'll get bored with it pretty quickly.

I was conflicted on whether or not I should give it a rating on quality or unintended fun. Following the Plan 9, worst movie ever precedent, I will have to rate it low, but it's very fun. It's the type of movie that you need to watch with friends, because it drags. But the payoffs are worth it.

Often confused for an educational/government film based on the introduction, it's actually just a low budget exploitation film. Manages to be completely nonsensical but also boring enough to not be worth watching.

If this is supposed to be anti-marijuana, it fails. This movie makes weed look amazing.

Scary when you think that many people still believe many of the things this movie attempts to teach...

Eerily like Blue Velvet in many ways; the high woman screaming when a man beats another man to death while she laughs inbetween beatings is disturbingly funny. [Rifftrax is somewhat of a letdown. Much like on Plan 9, they seem to be taking the easy way out by letting the film speak for itself.]

I thought I'd have a few laughs. None. Zero.

Full of disinformation, misinformation, melodrama, and "marihuana", Reefer Madness is a must-see for every stoner and/or B-movie fan in need of a good laugh. Definitely in the running for the campiest film of the first half of the 20th century. I highly recommend the digitally colorized version released by Legend films.

Crazy film that has some very strange views on the effects of marijuana.

Before the advent of video, the film that put early exploitation movies on the contemporary camp map, theatrically revived by New Line Cinema in the '70s, enjoyed a wider cult audience than all its sleaze-bijou brethren combined. Though homevideo's ongoing exploitation explosion -- made possible by archivists like Sinister Cinema, Something Weird, Rhino, and Kino -- has placed this in a wider context, the pic still holds up as one of the most absurdly entertaining of its kind.

It does hit that certain "so-bad-you'll-laugh" sweet spot on occasion, but otherwise it spends most of its running time being damn boring.

Really makes you think...

It's fun to make fun of people who try to prove something that everyone(?) knows is a lie. Some of the bad acting is hilarious. However, I think Dave O'Brien (Ralph) did a great job as a insane guy. For me he is a real highlight of the film. Some nice visual effects too. Watch colorized version high, you'll have fun.

It's madness! Don't get mad at me, the director must be a sneaky bastard who was getting a shot in the set. Pretty boring itself, but I believe this one and some similar wasp ideology movies paved the way to mockumentary genre, so it is still important as a predecessor.
