Summary: This film tells the tale of the Harper Affair, in which young Jimmy Harper finds his life of promise turn into a life of debauchery and murder thanks to the new drug menace marijuana. Feels the kind of the stage musical that young free-spirited artists present in university campuses. There are a few very funny musical numbers, but satire is often too straight forward. Enjoyment of this film increases a lot if you have seen original 30's anti-cannabis propaganda film.

Yes, the plot drags in places, but the script and songs get the balance between satire and absurdity just right. It's consistently funny enough to keep you watching, and the music is oddly catchy. A modern musical on a par (or even exceeding) The Producers.

A bit poorly paced toward the end, but it's wonderfully absurd and an amazing work of satire. Captures everything great about the original and takes it to the greatest possible extreme, and cuts out most of the boring bits.

Enjoyable. The musical numbers are creative and there's a tremendous energy and verve to the performances. My only complaints would be that the joke goes on a bit too long, the satire gets a bit one-note, and Kristen Bell ought to have more scenes. Fun film nonetheless.

If ever a movie deserved to be ripped apart, its Reefer Madness, and this does a delightful job of it. For some strange reason Kristen Bell is the hottest woman on the planet in this. Go figure.
