Summary: The year is 2084 and the human race is fighting an alien militia to save the last remnant of civilization. A young heroine name Milly (Suzuki) escapes the war and jumps back in time to present-day Japan in an attempt to change history and prevent the demise of her people. (Destination Films)
Borrowed concepts and inspired by Transformers, Matrix, Independence Day, E.T., Predator, but I couldn't stop watching. Takeshi Kaneshiro and Yukiko Okamoto were great even with the crappy storyline and somewhat decent action scenes.
It has a few cool action scenes, a crazy if derivative villain...and that's about it. The choreography is mostly mediocre, the acting is pathetic, the story has more holes than Swiss cheese, and any attempt to inject "emotion" by the brooding, long-haired protagonist should be met with the fast forward button. That being said, most of the goodies, like a new way to "block" bullets are in the last thirty minutes, and make my final memories of this picture positive. Watchable nonsense.
Goro Kishitani is hilarious as the over the top villain in this entertaining mashup of various sci fi cliches. It's got aliens and time travel and bullet time gadgets and Anne Suzuki is as cute as a button.
