I'm speechless. The best kung-fu splatter ever.

This movie is incredible. Is it perfect in terms of cinematography? No. How about writing? Or directing? Or any facet of the fundamentals of filmmaking? Still no. What "Riki-Oh" is, however, is the most entertaining movie I have ever watched, and that's because that's what it set out to be. If you only look at the individual pieces, "Riki-Oh" isn't very good. But if you finish the movie and think about how much fun you had watching it, then "Riki-Oh" is the best film ever made.

This movie is just so much fun to watch, I couldn't possibly give it less than an 80 (even though, technically, it deserves much less). But it's just so damn entertaining.

what a cool take on kung fu prison films..this movie is so bizarrely funny it gets points just for how far it goes without no cares and laughs at itself

The epitome of so bad it's good. Everything is absolutely ridiculous and over the top and amateurishly done, but that actually helps here. Pretty much every scene is a laugh.

Just skip from one ridiculous scene to the next and you'll have a better time. Luckily there's not too much else even going on.

So silly

This is such a terrible film; there are massive plot-holes all over the place (especially a literal one at the end), terrible acting/dubbing, hilarious gore effects, weird prison in-mates (they're not the ruthless; they just do a lot of pointing). One thing that isn't terrible about this film is how much god-damn fun it is. Make sure you watch it with friends, right after scoffing down some Maccas (like what me and my friends did).

Ridiculous.

A ridiculous, gory exercise in martial arts excess. It's a shambling mess of a movie, but it's punctuated with enough memorable moments that it's hard to truly dislike it.

This was so awesome. It's one of those movies that's so ridiculously bad, that it's good. Great stuff. No doubt.

Very entertaining, probably the single greatest film to watch with friends.

Good movie

Oh my god. Heads exploding; meat grinders; arms exploding; spike deathtraps; entire bodies exploding; a guy strangling another guy using his (the strangler's) own intestines, and everything exploding. Now THIS is a man's movie!

A amazing martial art's movie with some of the best and craziest fights ever

Having read the original manga - which qualifies as one of the few works of any kind to have both continually kept me on my toes in how off-quilter it goes - this does lose its impact upon re-viewing it, and while it does has its charm in its splatter aesthetics it is diminished by films which combined similar perversities with unexpected moments of depth. That said, rather than merely violent trash, it's blackly humorous Grand-Guignol that is entertaining and never becomes offensive.

If you watch this drunk with some friends you will have some laughs.

If this wasn't so awesome to watch I certainly would have hated it.

I want to rate it higher for the literal DAYS of entertainment it gave me in my pizza chef youth, but let's be honest, I was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally stoned. It's cheesy, kind of fun, kind of unique, really gory, kind of stylish. It's also really cheap and about as well-scripted as those kids movies they used to play on showtime at 10am that had titles like The Skateboard Kid and um... I mean it's bad. If you're on illicit substances, though, give it a whack!

if you like trash, add something up to 50 points, because this movie is the definition of it. if you dislike the concept of wasting money, film and time just subtract down to zero.

Disappointing, I had high expectations. I wanted it to be awesome so badly, but it was so cheesy. Some fighting scenes make up for the cheese fest, but not enough for me to love it. Meh

An amazingly entertaining film with a ridiculous amount of viscera...Basically the type of film I'd want to make, which is a three stooges episode taken to feature length with extreme gore.

Hilariously bad!

Poorly made in many aspects, but the gore and over-the-top story and action makes for a highly entertaining film, and one most people won't soon forget.

This movie is just incredibly bad. The whole thing is a completely ridiculous awful piece of crap. BUT: if you are searching for the perfect trashfilm with huge amounts of gore, you can easily add 70 points to my score and will be highly entertained :D

It's very what the fuck, but in a good way.

A gory kung fu version of Cool Hand Luke and I loved just about every minute of it. Certainly not as weird or gruesome as they get but it's damn high up there, a sweet lil flix that'll surely entertain me for years to come.

definately a polarizing movie, aside from some cool gore sequences it's pretty damn bad. i mean really damn bad. i suppose i should warn you that i dont like kung-fu; that probably makes me biased.
