It takes over an hour to get to the RobinHooding, which is way too long, but otherwise it's a pretty fun film and that first hour has its share of good moments, even if they lack excitement. I also felt the leads lacked charisma, I didn't buy Fairbanks as Robin Hood and much less Bennett as the object of anyone's lustful affection.

The sets are awesome. Unfortunately it's a bit long and dull and mostly failed to drag me in. Acting and writing are not that great, either.

It pains me to say this, since this was absolutely unseeable for years; I know, 'cause I looked for it for years. In theory it was released on VHS at some point, but back in those pre-Amazon pre-Netflix days it couldn't be found for love or money. Now I have finally had a chance to see it, and it's really quite seriously dull. It's not even very well made; there's a scene where Huntingdon/Robin is having some kind of beer mug arm-wrestling match with some guy that has a blatant continuity error

Though the film takes far too long handling the Huntingdon backstory, once Robin Hood leaps on screen this story takes off. The last hour is broad, robust fun with colossal sets and a funny, charismatic (and probably absurd) performance from Fairbanks.
