Summary: Neo, a drifter from the atomic-blasted wastelands, arrives with his klutzy robot sidekick at a factory where slaves labor to fuel the sinister Dark One's Power Station. There, he meets a comely woman who convinces him to help rescue her scientist father, who has invented a device that can break the Dark One's control over the slaves. Gathering a motley crew of allies on the way, Neo and pals travel to the Power Station, where they confront the Dark One's evil servants. (imdb)

Not one contraction in 80 minutes (so you know it's the future). This one started out slow, but its high-camp wackiness grew on me. Especially fun was Valaria, the Playboy bunny with the speech impediment ("Dark One, I can assure you they are all doomed"...lol). I also liked the manhating warrior chick and those two nebbishy slave guys and their conferences (as well as the C3PO knockoff). One humbling note for humanity: someday it may take a motley band led by Rick Springfield to save us all.

Manhattan-shot clinker. Ed French did the budget makeups, which sometimes work, but the dopey story and wooden acting got this an early berth on the fledgling "Mystery Science Theater 3000" show.

Saw this on Mystery Science Theater. But this would be hilarious even on its own.

Really, really horrendous, amateurish and ridiculous. I can't believe how many reaction shots we get of the guy in the cardboard robot mask with the human-looking eyes painted on it (surprise surprise - he stays expressionless). Disregarding the fact that a filming crew actually shot this, this movie could just as well have been conceived, played out and designed by kids. There's a lot to laugh at here, and MST3K have a lot of fun with this one.
