Easily the best Rocky film since the first one, because with this one we finally win back that underdog feel that made the first one such a stand-up-and-cheer classic, and it returns to its fundamental roots as a character study, this time of an aging man. The actors deliver, both the veterans and the newbies, it's the most visually engaging film of the series, and the fight scene is the most realistic yet. Loved it.

A fitting end to the story, I always felt that Rocky V ended on a bit of a sour note. So I felt it did justice to the character to give him that one last shot. Obviously it's silly, and ludicrous, and laughable in places, but Rocky has never been about that. It's about feeling a connection with the character, and this has that connection in spades.

A nice way to end the Rocky franchise. Probably the best in the series since Rocky II. It's all a little far fetched and silly, but then again, isn't that what the original Rocky was all about?

I couldn't get through the first half hour of Rocky reminding us over and over that he misses his wife and trainer. I liked that it was supposed to be a dark movie but it seems like Stallone just wrote this out of desperation to act in a theater movie again

A return to the basic formula of the first movie. Occasional over-sentimentality notwithstanding, Rocky Balboa is effective feel-good stuff. Cheesily enough, the drama is sort of held together by Rocky's heroic determination, righteousness and unconditional niceness to people, but it's hard not to get pulled in by it. What's really spectacular, though, is the bout, which is extremely well-staged. All-in-all, this final sequel is possibly the best since the first Rocky.

Clearly not in the same category as the original "Rocky", or "Million Dollar Baby", but a fitting conclusion to the Rocky series. Stallone gets some redemption after the crime against humanity known as "Rocky V".

Big fan of the Rocky series, and this one was done just as well as the other 5. Sly still somehow managing too look good at an age 60 gives a great performance as Rocky getting back into boxing. The plot is true to form and the acting is done well. This one is much more tearful than the others, but it just goes to show that no matter what Sly is a great actor, and soo underappreciated. Again at the end of this movies like all others you feel like there is no challenge to great.

With ROCKY BALBOA, Sylvester Stallone goes back to basics and to the character of the original, Oscar-winning ROCKY film.
Forget the flag-waving cold war of ROCKY IV and the dullness of ROCKY V, but you should see at least ROCKY before you see ROCKY BALBOA! A worthy final chapter of a saga of 3 decades. [ Full Review]

As often as he appears on screen, Rock remains a pretty lovable lug. And, fittingly enough, this is a lovable lug of a movie: flawed and not exactly groundbreaking, yet charming and engaging. You can't help but root for the guy. I was surprised at how much Rocky's ambitions and reflections moved me. Definitely heads above the terrible fifth entry.
