A passable road movie, it really excels at showing desperate and pathetic individuals without encouraging us to laugh at them; instead, you find yourself swept up by the underdogs and hoping they come out on top. Unfortunately, Church's script feels slightly lacking, and there's always the sense that the movie could have been more than it is. That said, it's hard to deny it has a certain quirky charm, no small thanks to Roday, Torn and Huntington.
