Hepburn was very charming and Peck was also solid, but otherwise this was a pretty generic romantic comedy. The Italians were cheap stereotypes and the naivety just didn't work for me. The ending was refreshingly unexpected, though.

So delightful. How could you dislike it? Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn just have the best chemistry and their journey is an absolute joy to watch. Its hilarious and touching, with a great ending that left a few people in the theater audience with tears.

Hepburn lights up the screen with incredible charm and superb acting. Gregory Peck is fantastic and makes the gradual change self interest to true love completely believable. Heart breaking but beautiful ending at the same time. Plus this actually has some superb cinematography in places, which I found quite unexpected.

Remember the part in this movie where Peck tried to forcibly remove a camera from around the neck of a 10 year-old girl he doesn't know while reassuring her with sweet nothings? I guess in the fifties middle-aged men could do that shit and still win over Audrey Hepburn.

It's a pretty typical sort of 50s screwball comedy. It's interesting that it's one of Audrey Hepburn's first movies, and that it was all apparently shot on location in Rome. I don't think it's as funny as similar movies like His Girl Friday, but it had a pretty good story to it. It's almost fairy-tale-esque, but the ending is not quite "happily ever after"

Roman Holiday is an extremely well made film. It is very fluid, and extremely well presented. The camera work, and the shots of Rome are fantastic. Hepburn shines in her first role, and Peck is great as well. It is a solid romance story, but something didn't really click for me, it was entertaining, and I definitely should have enjoyed it more than I did. But easily the best part of Roman Holiday, was the ending. Classic Romance.

I fell in love with Audrey Hepburn in this one. A naive and free-spirited princess who just wants to explore what is beyond her iron gates, sets the focus of RH. Sounds a bit silly, but this film is filled with poignant acting, tender moments, and will stir a yearning in your heart to meet someone as lovely and genuine as Miss Hepburn. Hollywood just doesn't make em like they used to. Not to mention, the film's backdrop is beautiful Rome in the spring.

Audrey Hepburn is good, Gregory Peck is good, Eddie Albert is awesome. I like that the ending is not stupid modern Hollywood, but it's sad just the same.

Hepburn and Peck are quite attractive, charming and ooze chemistry. There are moments that are truly funny and others that are touching. The scenes in Rome are often breathtaking and much of the cinematography is beyond that of modern romantic comedies. The story of two opportunists who slowly develop feelings for one another has been rehashed numerous times since, but rarely in such a believable or heart-felt way. The final moments find us cautiously optimistic, staring at the screen on-edge.
