The plot is pretty much forgettable, with the usual roadblocks. Astaire's romance is more charming than Powell's, but really neither is that compelling. The comedy is hit or miss and the songs are a mixed bag as well. But then there's "You're All the World To Me" which by itself is worth the price of admission. A piece of cinematic wizardry as fine as any other. Even knowing how it's done takes away none of its magic. It elevates a pleasant but mediocre film into something a little more special.

One of my favorite Astaire dance scenes is in this movie (pictured here, actually!).

Better than Top Hat and just as good as Swing Time putting it in the running for my new favorite Astaire film just for being the most memorable. I have nothing against Ginger Rogers but if I had to choose between her or a hat-rack and a spinning hotel room, I think I'd have to go with the latter.
