Bad but the actors are lovable. Not an altogether terrible romantic comedy.

More isn't always better, ventures the eponymous heroine. "Sometimes it's just more." Truer words never fell on deafer ears. Pollack's update of Billy Wilder's fairy-tale-for-grownups is, by virtue of fidelity to its forebear, a well-constructed piece of work, and (major assist to cameraman Giuseppe Rotunno) a gleamingly polished one to boot. Chiefly what it adds of its own, however, is fat and flab.

Never felt the least bit interested in the movie at any point.

More intelligent dialog than I had expected. Not Ford's best role.

Ford may be a solid actor, but he just isn't cut out to be a romantic lead. His performance and Ormond's are hit and miss throughout the movie, with the "hit" moments owed to Pollack's direction or careful choice of takes in the editing room. The script is so-so but has some really deep and/or clever lines, too (as you would expect from Billy Wilder). The overall story is not bad, but the stiff performances and the occasionally lame narrative flow don't do much to make it rise above mediocrity.

I'm really not much for "old" films. To me basically anything made before 1999 seems antiquated. But this was really enjoyable, despite being a bit antiquated.

Oh look - the makeover teen genre comes in a grown up version.

Loses all the charm of the original.
