Summary: A womanizing super samurai cop and his black side-kick go after the Yakuza. This film is bad..REALLY bad, it's also pretty damn funny. Matt Hannon stars as the samurai cop who looks more like a gay poolboy in the best movie of his long varied career of one film. Robert Z'dar (Maniac Cop) is the right-hand man of the bad guy. Definately a guilty pleasure movie with it's jaw-droppingly insanely stupid dialog, the horrible "action", the unneeded flamingly gay waiter. (imdb)
Holy sheepshit. Nothing can touch _Plan 9 from Outer Space_ for sheer negative entertainment value, but mostly I agree with TheDenizen in his views on this important '80s cultural artifact. So awesomely bad I laughed at it loudly and frequently
I have a hard time rating this... It's bad. It's really bad. It looks like it's made by amateurs who's never seen a film before. But at the same time. It's funny. It's really funny. I have to give it some points for the entertainment value (though, admitted, the movie is too long, for the funny awfulness to make up for the awful awfulness).
This doesn't deserve to be called a film. Rating it will destroy the integrity of any ranking scale because even the most useless of real films would have to be moved upwards in order to signal the massive inferiority of this garbage which fails on every level, even as camp. For now, let it be noted that, if it were possible, I would rank Samurai Cop infinitely less. It is, truly, one of the worst pieces of shit I have ever had the misfortune of having thrown at me. Don't make the same mistake!
'Russian Terminator' country. This is a movie so bad that it's actually bad. Even the token black guy, who's reaction shots (just one out of 100, that replaces establishing shots and... well... plot) are ... bad... and cannot help this movie from being an amateur effort, entertaining like an elephant on skates, but not worthy of comparison to real movies.
