Summary: Thomas Kurien (Balachandra Menon), a Christian, & Saraswati (Shobana), a Hindu Brahmin, fall in love & get married, & as a result get ostracized by their families. However, when they have a baby girl, both families reconcile & visit them. But Thomas's & Saraswati's troubles were only getting started, after both their culturally different families start fighting for dominance, each putting forth demands for raising the kid in adherence to their religion & finally causing for the couple to split.
