Summary: When detective Eric Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg) is called to a crime scene of a victim of Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), he finds a lead to the place where he is hidden. Once there, he realizes that Jigsaw trapped his son Daniel Matthews (Erik Knudsen) with three women and four men in a shelter, and they are inhaling a lethal nerve gas. If they do not use an antidote within two hours, they will die. Eric follows with increasing desperation the death of each member of the group in monitors, while trying to convince Jigsaw to release his son. (imdb)

While the worst of the Saw series, that doesn't mean it's bad. Not at all. There are excellent traps and the scenes with Jigsaw being interrogated are priceless. The main flaw is that none of the characters in the traps are really that likeable and some are cliche. Other than that, the movie is excellent. Go see it.

Going in to the film not expecting much, I was actually enjoying the movie until the twist at the end. Not saying the acting was good or anything like that but it was acceptable. The end ruined it. A movie that is part of a series of movies should be able to stand on its own. This one didn't.

How does the first sequel in an increasingly ludicrous (and ludicrously successful) franchise remain its low-point? This is vile, trashy exploitation that takes its aesthetic cues from puke and fools itself into believing its villain-cum-antihero has something meaningful to say. The first Saw was decent because it was campy and attempted to be something more than its death sequences; Saw II figures the latter is all we want. Worse yet, based on its popularity, I suppose that is true.
