Better than Saw IV. It finally causes the viewer to like the new Jigsaw, which should breathe life into the franchise for future films. Only time will tell but this one worked.
Acceptable entry into the series, but this had way too many flashbacks as it did get a little annoying and the tag line wasn't really accurate. "You aren't going to believe how this ends." Sorry this was too predictable. Would have like to see more of the groups, the traps and why they needed to be rehabilitated, I mean isn't that why we watch the Saw series. Still, this is a decent watch.
Isn't any worse than the previous installments, though the detective talking to himself 'explaining' what he was deducing so all the morons in the theater could understand what was going on...that was a little excessive. But,I guess you get what you pay for...and if you torrented the movie, then you payed for nothing.
So how confused are we all now? It kinda ruins it for me, not being able to keep track of whats going on! I loved the first movie, thought it was so innovative and different, shame they didn't stay that way.
This is the time where they need to stop the series. It has become a ridiculous, boring, dry, old, washed-up and rehashed cash-in franchise with little being interested in it. This so-called film is yet another poor gorefest, and an example of how Hollywood doesn't give a crap how bad there movies are. Seriously, stop the series. It's getting to the point where everybody in the theater dies from shock, and not the shock that the film tries to cram into everybody's mouths.
"There are only so many alternate flashbacks and massive explanations that a horror freak can take ... but I think the series is still amusing enough to warrant 90 minutes a year."
From serious cutting-edge movie series to a fun entertaining movie that has nothing to give. That's what fifth Saw is about. You have to check it out just because it's Saw.
