is there where pacino starts getting really annoying with his overblowing acting? probably not. i daresay it's always been there, but his movies in the 70s had great writing that overpowered his blowhard antics. i know all the lines that one is supposed to know from this, and i tried to like it, but honestly, this is just not that good of a movie.

If they cast anyone other than Al Pacino: this film would not have been done at all. The character of Tony Montana leaps from the screen in such a way only Pacino could do. The only complaint is the film was way too long and felt stretched at parts.
