Summary: In 1917, a cad nobleman flees revolutionary Russia with his devoted servant. They settle in Constantinople and marry. He works various odd jobs but a glamorous expatriate attempts to lure him back to his previous lifestyle, now unattainable without petty crime. In the end, he must decide if he will return to Russia with his wife.
