Summary: What brings best friends together? For Daphne, Velma, Fred, Shaggy and Shaggy's spunky pup Scooby-Doo, it's a mystery! The feature-length live-action Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins original movie takes you back to when four teenage sleuths (plus one dog detective) first met. Unjustly accused of staging a spooky practical joke complete with ghosts, the kids are suspended from Coolsville High. To clear their names, they team to solve the supernatural mystery... This is a decent straight to DVD release that doesn't match the other two live-action Scooby-Doo films, but fans should be pleased anyway. The CGI Scooby is shocking at first but you get used to it. Nick Palatas was a spot-on choice for Shaggy (like Matthew Lillard was) and the other actors play their roles well also. It has a good storyline, a little predictable, but overall entertaining enough, especially for younger audiences. Overall there's enough here to keep you entertained :)

Quite a nice surprise as I wasn't expecting it to be very good (being straight to DVD and all) but I actually liked it more than Monsters Unleashed (the sequel to the first live-action Scooby-Doo film). Sure the cast has changed but all four leads were fine, and Nick Palatas is perfect as Shaggy. Great storyline and not totally aimed at younger children like I felt Monsters Unleashed was. Scooby-Doo fans should be more than pleased and overall it's an impressive addition to the series :)

SCOOBYS REAL NAME IS SCOOBERT It was a pretty decent film on the whole, some actual genuine laughs were had though the odd scene, specifically the american football scene, i really hated. There was a bit of a problem with the casting though, Daphne is supposed to be hot but shallow. Velma is supposed to be hotter but only when you look a bit deeper. Neither were particularly appealing.

Better than one would think, even if Velma is now suddenly Asian. i'm not saying it's great, but for the scooby doo fan, not bad if one can bear the live action again. i was actually impressed for this being a made for tv movie. at least i'm proud that they're still trying to keep the spirit alive.
