Another seriously weird obscure Looney Tune: Daffy Duck mouths off to Hitler, so Hitler orders his scrap heap destroyed, and subsequently Daffy turns into a patriotic Superman variant to do battle with the evil Nazi goat. Oooooookay. Many stupid bits, and Daffy is as obnoxious as ever, but you sure don't tire of watching this damned thing

If only the portrayal of Daffy as Superman-esque American hero had been rendered with the same parodical bent as the farcically maniacal treatment of Adolf Hitler, Scrap Happy Daffy might have played like a wider-spanning comic indictment of the investment of pride into patriotism. Alas, jejune jingoism this is -- though Tashlin brings a classier sense to it than its brothers in arms of the time.
