i saw the previews and thought it looked fairly watchable, once i was watching the movie i realized that the previews were fairly watchable, but there were another eighty five movies on this of pretty bad stuff. there was nothing inherently bad about it, but it just ended up not having enough interesting stuff to it.

Ron Perlman and Nicolas Cage as best buds is the kind of thing I thought would only be in fan fiction, or a nerd's wet dream. But here they are, in a supremely subpar Seventh Seal/Stagecoach/Exorcist (in that order) hybrid attempt at a "Dark Ages" movie. It's not entirely bad. Yet moments of the script, and all the CGI, are so disastrous the mediocre-ness of the rest of it can never recover. But if we need to compare, we could be watching Van Helsing. And no one wants that.

The most contrived, steamy pile of hilariously terrible horseshit. The most mismatched roles with Cage and Perlman. And let's not forget the messy CGI extravaganza. Overall... I loved it.

Somehow, someone fucked up the easiest, most bankable concept for me to consume: a Nic Cage/Ron Perlman buddy movie. I don't even know if I could tolerate this turkey when I was 10 and watched these kinds of things exclusively. Cage is cripplingly subdued by an obnoxiously serious script and Perlman is equally wasted. Even a Sorcerer homage couldn't get me interested.

An amazing film! Probably one of the best (almost) horrors out there, and one of Nicholas Cage's top films. I didn't think it was going to be great, but I was totally wrong. The film gets better all the way through and has a twist that actually makes sense without being totally obvious. If you like action, thrillers, or horrors -you should watch this film.

Season of the Witch is no fun. It takes itself far too seriously, it's dark and dreary, the action scenes are lackluster, and witches don't actually play much part. A better title would be "Nic Cage and Ron Perlman get to Dress in Medieval Armor and Travel," because that's what the film feels like. It doesn't feel like an epic journey; instead, it's like watching a play with only a few sets, so to differentiate them, the lighting is dimmed until you can barely tell what's going on.

To me, Nicholas Cage is a 50/50 actor - half is stuff is good and half is bad. This falls easily in to the bad category. The general plot is ok but the directing, acting and end result is poor. Apart from the two leads, the characters involved come and go with little story and the overall feel of the movie is that it's stuck together without much thought. Burn it!!

It's difficult to say anything about this except that it is a complete pointless waste of money. It's difficult to write a lot about it because it is both bad in that I felt only ennui to it, and find it difficult to pin point specific issues with it, and also an extremely boring experience.

Pretty dumb. It's not really as terrible as some people make it out to be but it certainly isn't good. Cage and Perlman talk like Americans while everyone else talks in the medieval style. The story/effects are made-for-tv SyFy channel worthy and that's it. Too many people are saying Cage is awful but letting Perlman get a pass which makes zero sense. It's not either of their faults that this movie is a turd.

I'd heard this was both hilariously entertaining and self-aware. It is most definitely neither. It starts out well enough, promising to be a amusing good-bad movie but it turns out to be painfully dull with excruciating dialogue and CGI. Christopher Lee and Ron Perlman can only do so much for a movie. The last five minutes are worth a watch though, the demon's voice is absolutely hilarious.

How does Nicolas Cage end up in an Hungarian production? It reminds me of a typical 80's B movie. It will pass the time on a boring wednesday evening. Hope Cage will get back up his feet and get to do some decent movie.

It's kind of like a cross between the Crucible and Diablo II. This is very poorly written though, and generally not a very good film. It's a shame because there is a lot of talent in the cast. However the story is too stupid to be salvaged by good performances. I wish Nicolas Cage would go back to making proper action movies like he did in the 90s, and I wish Ron Perlman would apply his immense acting talent to more promising projects. If you crave medieval witchcraft watch Black Death instead.

I'm thinking back about movies like 8mm, face-off leaving las vegas and i ask myself what happened to mr.cage in the last few years!?! some kind of a downward trend that'll never stop? Every movie cage is involved turns out to be shit. What starts with ghostrider ends with flicks like drive angry...up to today. Season of the witch is another bad cage movie that's not worth to watch!

Horrible. Ulrich Thomsen is enjoyable just by being present, to an almost equal degree is Ron Perlman. That's it. Everything else is atrocious. Insultingly mediocre in every one of its big moments. Downright shit the rest of the time.

Leaving the theater, I was pretty sure this was one of the worst movies I'd seen in quite some time, but I gave it a night and a day to seep its way into my good graces, and I decided that taken seriously, this movie just sucks. I wondered if taken tongue-in-cheek, this film could work, like a film made to be played on Joe Bob Briggs's Drive-In Theater. But there just isn't enough there, 'though some of the dialogue would certainly be entertaining at 2:00 A.M. if enough Bagel Bites were present.
